Exactly...the Anet premise was that farming/grinding would not be required just to get along in the game. Now they have gone back on that and basically the team that grinds the most can sit back and act all arrogant (as a lot of them have been in these forums) and pretend they got their through the sheer force of their own skill.

literally the only thing I'm afraid will happen with this any time soon is the complete and total nurfage of repeatable missions. which could spell Disaster to both the armor crafting market, AND to many players trying to finish the game cause its going to be very difficult to accumulate faction for 10k befriending quest to open up the 3rd part of the game on each side. Thats not to say Faction farming will not be possible with alliance battles... but still. it will take a very very long time again for getting to 10k in most cases... the good thing about this is it will not be as easy to maintain the high alliance standing levels that it is today...
Thought... Think about how much Exp they give for those Repeatable quests... I think each is 2000Exp. thats a ton... seem like every 10k faction you dump on alliance standing you also gain a skill point. I would hate to even imagine what exp level the full time faction farmers have atm. lol

all praise the crusaders
so, we all by now have seen that cavalon has been taken over, about time. i have met a few people from the crusaders, and their only requirement to getting into the deep is that you go to international districts, much better than the black blades 50k req
they have no problem letting anyone in to the deep, as long as they can keep thier status and hold cavalon i think we all owe them a debt, anyone that is not part of a guild, but has 10k faction from doing that quest should ask to join them and dump 5k faction into the pool, thsi would help us all keep cavalon and the deep
/bows to the crusaders

Me personally i want to earn access to the elite mission. Its something to strive for not just some normal mission. I am very dissapointed.

How sad is that ?
If everyone has access it becomes worthless, thus not "ELITE" ? Not gaining access is "elite".. being able to finish the mission might show that he/she is a good player.
Excluding everyone who hasn't got enough time / doesn't want leave their guild ot join a FFF Guild is discriminating. Tss... elite.. >_<

right, i just played through the deep (got to the last boss on my second try with a PUG couldnt kill him due to two err 7s and not knowing that we needed enchant removal). most people from the guilds in control of the elite missions seem to like saying something like "they're elite for a reason most people won't survive them". That's actually a complete lie, yeah, it's challenging, but it's not impossible, like i said, with a PUG I got to the boss with no real problems. you have 12 people in your party and you're not fighting insanely hard enemies, the groups that you should be pulling aren't even much bigger than anywhere else in the game! the only problem is most GW players are completely unable to pull and run in and aggro too many things, that's ALWAYS been the problem with hard areas. IMO it's not really that tough...
and damn the crusaders rock

Agreed. It wasn't really too hard really. There were a few surprises (very nice touches), but generally with smart agro control, pull etc. it was a breeze. Unfortunate that we needed enchantment stripping for the boss though
Having run through it once and seeing all it has to offer, I imagine we could easily complete it.
I suppose it's only '1337' to farmers

We have Aurios mines. Here are the towns, listed by importance (faction needed to control them)
Cavalon
Aurios Mines
Zos Shivros Channel
Breaker Hollow
Bai Paasu Reach
Eredon Terrace
Leviathan Pits
Seafarers Reach
Harvest Temple
Though the last 3 belong to the Kurzicks at times.

I've been to Aurios Mines. Could someone please explain to me why this place is so high on the list? Most people probably don't even have it on their maps. It is considerablly southeast of Cavalon. I thought the cities closest to Cavalon were the ones that would be the most coveted ? Apparently not.

I still don't get why so many ppl are complaining,...
Its 1 mission !!!
1, not more then that (1 for kurzick, 1 for luxon I guess)
Why do ppl have to talk about 1 mission when they got a lovly game in their hands... stop complaining and start enjoying the game.
I actually love the idea of having these elite missions when you control a town, but they should make it that alot more shifting would happen between the Alliances who control a town. We are speaking here of 9 mill faction... thats not something a normal alliance can get, A.net should think of a better way to control this.
I also think there should be some elite mission for the normal gamers out there, like tombs atm.
If only crusadors were Kurzick

Because if you look at the accessible PvE in Factions it's easy and short, people want to play against the hardest opposition. Plus the fact that many wants to farm the high end areas.

we are upset because the game is horrible as a stand alone game, and not much better as an expansion because we had to pay full game price for it. it is short, and easy, the storyline is the only saving grace. the whole assencion mission, closer to the stars, that was a joke. atleast beating the doppledanger took some elitest ability, not much, but some.
the missions are way too easy, and there arent enough people doing pvp to make it interesting, atleast when it comes to the faction borderline. the 12v12 is a joke, cant see any of your 8 other teamates anymore, makes healing pointless almost.
the elite mission for luxon, the deep, is a fun elite. i got into it when tc opened it up for us all. my group made it to the end of the 10th room i believe, kinda lost count. we had killed the kanaxai that caused a -4hp regen on top of whatever poison and bleeding caused, and had mobs of poisonus dart flowers all over teh room, which you cant attack. then anet crapped out and everyone got booted.
the elite is tough, but fun. it makes the 50, or 70$ some of us payed for the game worth it. it is also very do-able, we lost a monk right after we entered the third room, got an error 7 he said, so we made it through 7 or 8 rooms with only 3 monks, 4 tanks and 4 high dmg casters, not too shabby.

Way to RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO that up.
Not only are they breaking from the premise they sold the game on by limiting the most interesting content to a tiny fraction of the total population, but they're still keeping in all the negative aspects such as collectors killing the weapons trade. Great job, ANet. Give your target audience the worst of both worlds, and feed them a bunch of lies.
|
I think that was one of the reason's for the change personally to allow access via alternate ways and the way it's currently playing it out.
Also I love the collector's myself but they had to add the green's (IMHO) because the sheer number of players that didn't realize the collector's existence (having sub-par collector weapons starting off then flipping to good one's once you hit nothern shiver peaks didn't help much either). Was to make the game skill vs grind for the casual player in the weapons department.

that guy list made the list based on Faction needed to control.. Aurious Mines is like a ghost town.. TC controlls it and waiting to take over cavalon
----------------
10k faction per day === MAD EASY
im in TC allience.. controlls cavalon
btw deep is rreally hard xD not like everybody's gonna beat it if they get there...
good and exp players always have a way to get in.. and to those dont' even know wat elite mission is, why bother open it up?

The Crusaders - Thank You
Just wanted to thank everyone in The Crusaders alliance for opening up The Deep while you controlled Cavalon.
Imo it was a very noble and generous act and should be applauded!
Thank you again
